Transcript: Full Guided Relaxation & Healing Visualization

Sitting comfortably in a chair, feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart, arms resting gently on your thighs. Gently close your eyes and focus on your breath, breathing slowly and deep, relaxing breaths. That’s right. So settle back in your chair and get as comfortable as you can.

Now take a deep breath and slowly exhale. Take another deep breath. Now feel how relaxed you’re becoming. Once more, take another deep breath and slowly and gradually exhale. As you exhale, breathe out all the tensions of the day and gradually feel yourself becoming more and more relaxed as I talk to you. That’s right.

As I talk to you, you need not be distracted by any outside noises because they are not important. The only important thing is your unconscious mind. You know that you have a conscious mind and an unconscious mind, and that your conscious mind is what you use in your everyday transactions, and your unconscious mind holds your vast storehouse of past memories and experiences, and everything that you have done. That’s right! It is a part of you that dreams at night and helps and guides your conscious mind through the day.

It has abilities and capabilities that are out of your awareness, and you can have faith in your unconscious mind that it will help you heal and give you the ability to do anything reasonable that you request, and your conscious mind doesn't have anything of importance to do right now. You can think about anything that it wants while your unconscious mind listens to my voice and can learn a great deal more than your conscious mind, and it can help your conscious mind deal with anything that happens to be bothering you at this time.

Now I’m going to count backwards from 20 to 1, and as I count, you feel yourself becoming more and more relaxed with each number that I count. You will feel yourself becoming deeper and deeper relaxed. Now I’m going to begin the count. 20, 19, 18 — beginning to feel more relaxed — 17, 16, 15. That’s right, more and more relaxed. That’s right, and notice how much more relaxed you’re becoming.

As you become more and more relaxed, I wonder if you can sense the different places in your body that feel more relaxed than others. Perhaps you feel your shoulders and neck becoming more relaxed than your legs, while one hand feels lighter than the other hand. I don’t know, and it really doesn’t matter. Doesn’t matter at all. Maybe you feel one arm becoming more relaxed than the other arm. Don’t know.

I wonder if this restful, relaxing feeling is already beginning to spread and flow down throughout your entire body — from your forehead into your facial muscles, through your neck, across your shoulders, down through your back, your abdomen, down through your legs. That’s right — 14, 13, 12, 11, 10.

Now you can imagine and experience, as you can, that you are on a mountaintop looking for a way down. You see a stairwell winding down and around the mountain, and you begin to descend it. I don’t know if your stairwell is rocky or grassy, steep or winding. Go slowly, don’t hurry. That’s right. You may feel a gentle breeze and smell the freshness in the air, and enjoy these experiences as you become more and more relaxed — 9, 8, 7, 6, 5 — as you continue to descend the mountain.

Take time to reflect and remember that your body has four healing intelligences. Your body knows when to heal, your body knows what to heal, your body knows how to heal, and your body knows when to. That’s right! Remember that you have the power to heal yourself. That’s right! 4, 3, 2, 1.

When at last you reach the bottom, you discover a bench, or a boulder, or something else to rest on. Now, while you’re sitting comfortably in this very relaxed state, visualize your body healing itself. See rich, red, healthy blood cells flowing through your body, carrying nutrients and oxygen to aid the white blood cells and to nurture and heal your body, going to any part of your body that may need repair.

See the white blood cells smoothing over these areas and healing your body; healthy tissue growing over and replacing dead cells, helping the normal cells grow in. Feel yourself growing in health. Allow your love and compassion to flow through you. See yourself having more energy and feeling increasingly comfortable.

Whenever you feel any discomfort in your body, picture the white blood cells flowing into that area and soothing it. Whatever the problem, give your body the command to heal itself. Visualize your body becoming healthier and healthier, sending your body love. See your purpose in life being fulfilled, your relationships with people becoming more meaningful.

Isn’t it nice to discover that we can alter our lives in ways that we can resolve any health concerns by gaining more control over our mind and our body in the direction of our optimal health? No one knows how long it will take; I don’t know. And you don’t know how long it will take before you begin to notice yourself feeling healthier. It may be today, tomorrow, or sometime during the next two weeks because you don’t know which alternative your unconscious will choose to let your body heal — with love.

I only know that you have this place inside of you where you store all of the information for creating and maintaining perfect health at the genetic level, that this information is important to you and your overall being. That’s right. So go ahead and experience your blueprint for perfect health, and allow your unconscious mind to represent it to you in an image that you will consciously remember.

Take all the time you need to notice whatever it is for you to remember this experience and the abilities that exist at the deepest level that can be accessed whenever necessary to promote healing and optimal health. So just continue to relax and enjoy these pleasant feelings of complete relaxation, and know that anytime you choose, you can return to this pleasant relaxed state.

So now, whenever you’re ready, walk back to the path and begin your journey up the mountain — 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. That’s right! Feeling the love, and caring, and healing available to you at any time — 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.

You have access to your body’s wisdom, which has access to billions of bits of information about your health and what is necessary for it. Thank your body for the wisdom offered and the understanding received. That’s right — 11, 12, 13, 14, 15. You know that you have learned many things today about your innate healing intelligence, and you can have a sense of pleasure in knowing that you can return to this private place, reflect anytime that you have a need to feel restful and relaxed, and your unconscious will guide you and protect you, and only give your conscious what it feels will be useful to you to know at its own pace, in its own way.
